BOARD OF EDUCATION

2007 - 2008 Greenwood Board of Education

The Greenwood Board of Education has seven dedicated citizens who volunteer their time and efforts in directing the district toward fulfillment of its mission.  The function of the board is to establish policy under which the district operates.  Board members regularly attend training sessions provided by the Arkansas School Board Association.  These training sessions give board members an opportunity to study school law, finance, recommended policy and procedures, as well as board and superintendent relations.

Each board member is elected at large for a five-year term.  The success of the Greenwood School District starts with the commitment of the Board to provide quality education for the citizens of this community.

The Board of Education meets on the second Thursday of each month.  Meetings are held in the Administration Building, starting at 6:30 P.M.  There is a segment provided at each monthly meeting for audience communication.  Patrons who wish to be placed on a meeting agenda should contact the Superintendent's office.
